Mv Senna versus 'The substantial Other'

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MV Agusta F4 : One Thread

Picture this!

My Saturday morning ritual (or is that therapy...) of cleaning my bike (Senna #166). It takes me about two hours or so, and I give it all my attention. We all do this right? Right?

Now, as per usual, my 'Subsantial Other' seems to be feeling neglected and perhaps a little jealous about the 'other love of my life' getting so much attention. She decides then and there to do something about it, and calls me inside, where upon I see her completely naked on the carpet, clothes scatter all around.

She beckons me to her, whispering...'take what you want'. Well, I did, and soon discovered that silk shirts and denim jeans do not give the same shine as a good towling polishing cloth when it comes to a final finish.

Anyone have any advice for me? Is there such as thing as a happy balance between love#1/love#2 ...?

Let's hear what you have to say on this important topic...

Just kidding above BTW.

A man can only do one thing at a time. Attention to the task at hand is not only good habit, it's also paramount to survival on a motorcycle.

I say, don't even flinch and get back to your polishing work. How can she not respect you for having such focus in times of serious distraction? Then when you're done, give her all the time she wants.

Seems like a good plan to me.

It never works though. My girlfriend makes funny looks when I clean the bike (only takes about a half hour for me, I'm not quite as dedicated as you are).

Hah! Maybe that's why I'm still single with a girlfriend in Los Angeles. :D

To sum it up in a few words.....

"She has to be the ONE, if she loves bikes as much as I do"

Thats the credo and criteria I demand!!! Ask for some give and take, but only take what you can give.....

give her that from which she has to recover for two hours or more. which gives you time to clean the bike!
