I put them in a bowl of water. Throw out anything that floats....CAREFULLY!!!

The eggs that stand on end are ok, they are no more stale than the supermarket eggs.

thanks Terri,, I thought it was somethign llike that, but wasnt sure. Would hate to throw out the good ones, and eat the bad ones (YUCKKKKK)

How long does it take an egg to go "stale" or "bad"?

I've heard that store eggs can be as old as 2 or 3 months! That's why they flatten out so much when you crack them into a frying pan. I'm sure, Stan, that any of your "old" eggs would be ALOT fresher than store eggs :-)!!!

eggs in the store, can be sold as fresh, as long as they are get under IDEAL condition, up to a YEAR after its been laid, after that, they use them for boxed products,, like pancake mix, or cake mixes and such

Some folks just don't realize the s*** that they're eating!!! If I absolutely HAVE to buy store eggs, I only use them for scrambled or for baking in recipes.
