Most modern art is not art at all?

No, though I find some contemporary/modern art to be unimaginative, or a pathetic cry for attention, it is still art if intended to be art by the artist. I think art (especially in AMerica) is much like political thought and viewpoints. THe conservative, locked in the past types of minds have a hard time with chance, progression, and experimentation. I hope not to offend anyone, but you can never escape the past if you refuse to leave in the past. BUt then I live by the motto that you should create art for your lifetime, not the torch of the past.
