OK, this question may be somewhat pointless, but it's FF related and I feel like asking. If the government in FF7 is a totalitarian dictatorship, then would the government in FF10 be a dictatorship, or perhaps something like a monarchy? And WTF would the government be in FF8? Is there really one at all?

Esthar is probably a kind of monarchy... I can't say dictatorship because Laguna seems to have endeless popular support. Galbadia is obviously a dictatorship. Garden is a self run military facility.

AH, SOP, I'M IMPRESSED. TRULY. EXCELLENT QUESTION! IN THE LAND OF FF10, YOU HAVE A CLASSIC THEOCRACY. I'll stop the all caps. Could be a while. A "theocracy" (latin: god ruling) is the name given to a government in which religious leaders are THE leaders, or the leaders are appointed by the church. Think of most of Europe before the Protestant Reformation. "Holy Mother Church" wielded AT LEAST as much power as the actual royalty. When they pulled the plug (excommunicated) Henry VIII, Europe was torn apart. The Pope vs. the King. So anyways, I think FF10 is a theocracy since "Yevon" seems to be the one thing that all people (Al Bhed excluded) use as law. A moral/religious system. The Al Bhed would be the pagans in that instance. Think of them as the Christians living in Egypt in the BC's. Persecuted, but "right" in a historical sense.

Yes, I agree. FF8 is pretty much anarchy. The monetary division, however, reeks of communism. Go play FF8 if you don't know what I mean.
