i am norwigian and dont know what qouth is?, can someone pleas tell me?

Quoth. An old now disused form of the word "quote" to speak or say. "Quote" is used in a more restricted way today to refer to someone else's words. So for "Quoth the Raven..." read "Spoke the Raven...". Further confusion may come from the poetic reversal of the normal word order in English. More prosaic and with less gravity Poe could have written "The Raven said..."
