Should America invade Iraq and remove Saddam Hussein's regime?greenspun.com : LUSENET : Stories of Compassion and Courage in the Recovery of New York : One Thread |
It looks like the United States will invade Iraq, with some allies, sometime this year. What is your opinion about the policy President Bush is advocating - to remove Saddam Hussein because of the threat of Saddam Hussein's likely use of weapons of mass destruction?

Why not take care of problems that may start? Better safe than sorry.

well, i think the U.S. should not attack Iraq unless its absolutely neccassary. which means that we should wait until there is a significant amount of evidence of the whole "weapons of mass destruction" thing. Also it would probably look bad on the US because people would think that its only going after Arab/Muslim nations and we dont want that...

We should not invade Iraq... yet. We do not have concrete proof that Saddam Hussein has any weapons of mass destruction. Nor do we know if he has it completed, furthing improving it, or creating it. If we attack- we may be the guinea pigs for his weapons. We should wait until we have more backup. What is the use of picking a fight when you know that you have no support?

I think that we should not invade Iraq. Since Saddam Hussein has not kept his promise to disarm and destroy his nuclear weapons, invading Iraq will probably lead to him using them against us. We should send in inspectors to monitor what is going on. Also, we should not invade them because we do not have anyone to assist or aid us incase of such an attack on the U.S.

Saddam Hussein is a person who never kept his promises of peace. He had been violent and difficult to negotiate with. The U.S. should strike before it is too late. Why should millions have to be terrified if we could put a stop to this threat NOW.

Yes! Absolutely. I mean, why let a little wound turn into an infection. Just put some alchahol on it. It has been known to happen within the history of the United States. So why stop now?
