VCD region question

I was just wanting to know if VCDs are region protected like DVDs? THANKS

No they are not. But commercial VCDs are usually in PAL video format, which may or may not cause problems with your DVD player.

Root is correct. Region 1 players might refuse to play a PAL disk. However, if your player plays them, most modern NTSC monitors (read TV sets) will adjust horizontal sync to 50hz and thusly play PAL. However (again), it probably won't play through RF output and your set's tuner.
