I have the opportunity to buy a Nikon Nikkor 50mm f 1.2 AIS lens for about $350. I am told it is in mint condition.

Would this be a wise purchase. I am looking for a superfast lens, but I thought I read somewhere that this lens is no longer made. Woulen't that be hard to fix if damaged? Also, does anyone know how well or if this lens works/meters wit the Nikon F100?
