Edgar Allen Poe was born in Boston on January 19, 1809. His parents named him Edgar Poe, but his mother passed away when he was still young and his dad abandoned the family and a guy named John Allen from Richmond brought him into the family. They gave him the name Allen as a baptismal name but he was never formally adopted. His writing was insensitive from the beginning with a youthful imagination and wid tales. Later on he earned a reputation for grotesque horror stories. I believe he died after having a long mental illness, alcoholism and drug addiction.

Edgar Allan Poe was a genius. He lead a miserable life, however. It was an existance noone should have to go through. He died, due to an overdosage of alcohol, in a phone booth in Baltimore.
