You should reduce resolution(viewing smaller) as well as reduce sound bitrate but these will also reduce quality. you can use any encoders suggested in "vcd help"(http://www.vcdhelp.com/) to re-encode mpeg file by adjusting proper resolution and sound bitrate. hpyrby

I disagree that reducing resolution will help. Reducing resolution will make almost no difference in the final file size. Reducing the bit rate of your audio or video will help, but you will end up with a non-standard VCD if you do so. Actually, the capacity of VCD is higher than you think for CD-R. CD-R capacities are listed for CD-ROM use, which is a format that uses parts of the disc for redundancy and error correction. These areas of the disc are available for VCD and SVCD to write to, so you actually have more disc space than you think.

if you want better quality you will want to raise your bit rate enough so your mpeg size will fit on two discs 1600

Compress the file to divx using virtualdub. The quality stays the same but the file size decreases by 1/5.
