i am doing resarch for a local museum and and am asking about the colors used on the ACL maint buildings specficaly handcar sheds thank you.

Answers

ACL (and SAL) maintenance buildings (sheds, pump houses, etc.) were painted in the same paint schemes applied to their respective depots. Different colors were used through the years.

ACL Buidlings: Early 1900s to mid/late 50s-Gray overall with dark brown trim. Mide 50s to early/mid 60s-White overall with purple trim. Prior to the merger with the SAL- white overall with green trim.

Somewhere I have the paint formula for the ACL gray and brown, as soon as I find it I'll post it here. Hope all this helps.
