dear message board, i am having difficulties successfully saving my game, i understand how the owl safes and song of time safes work but i seem to be losing previously saved game footage. For example, i was halfway through the swamp dungeon when i found myself running out of time, i had already saved the game on an owl statue outside the dungeon and then played the song of time. by the time i got back to the swamp i had to do everything again like getting koume her potion when shes injured in the wood. what can i do to successfully safe footage? thankyou!!!

if you go back in time, most events (like the potion one in the Lost woods you mentioned) are wiped out...the only way to complete these events is to do it in the the 3 days without saving using the song of time. if you need a bit of help to slow time down, use "the inverted song of time", which is "the song of time", but backwards..it slows down time to one half it's normal speed.

My advice is to play the inverted song of time before entering dungeons , and after you complete the dungeon, save with the song of time. Items you get like bombs, rupees, and deku nuts/sticks are lost when you go back in time, as are many events.

When you play the song of time, MANY things are reverted back to normal. These things are reset EVERY time you play the song.

ALL DUNGEON PROGRESS (You restart all dungeons from the beginning) STRAY FAIRIES (they are reset along with the dungeons) AMMO (Arrows, Bombs, Magic Beans, Deku Nuts, Etc.) ALL EVENTS ARE RESET (Injured Witch, All Subquests of any kind) KEYS (Reset with dungeon. This includes small and boss keys) RUPEES (in your wallet) BOTTLE CONTENTS (JUST THE CONTENTS NOT THE ACTUAL BOTTLES) THE RAZOR SWORD UPGRADE IS LOST!!!!

IN ADDITION- All people that are troubled (the people in the bombers notebook) return to thier normal, troubled states

THINGS THAT (THANK GOD) ARE SAVED-

ALL MASKS BOW (AND THE SPECIAL ARROWS) HOOKSHOT LENS OF TRUTH BOSS REMAINS (ALSO MASKS) MAGIC METER/LIFE BAR UPGRADES (FROM HEART PEICES AND FAIRY FOUNTAINS) SHEILD/QUIVER/BOMB BAG UPGRADES THE GUILDED SWORD UPGRADE BOTTLES RUPEES (that were deposited in the bank at West Clock Town) SONGS FOR YOUR INSTRUMENTS

Thus, from the look of things, be VERY careful before playing the ocarina of time. My advice(for the swamp) is-

Get to Woodfall Save Kohume Get the river tour Access Deku Palace Get Magic Beans Learn the Sonata of Awakening Head to Woodfall Temple Learn the Song of Soaring Hit the Owl Statue in the Woodfall Crater (where the temple is)

Now play the soaring song, warp to Woodfall. Now you have three whole days, and you pick up right where you left off

Good advice...it's always better off, when you;re playing the dungeons, to do so from the first day, so you have 3 days to do it. One thing to add though: also, as soon as you leave the clock tower, play the inverted song of time: it slows time down by 1/2.
