Just wanted to know if there is a wmv Windows Media editor to cut up those wmv files to make them custom. I currently use my ati capture card to record tv show and i want to get rid of the comercials.. Thanks..

The free program Windows Movie Maker 2 will edit WMV, but I prefer using a program called ASF Tools. Even thought it is named ASF it works on WMV files. You can check it out at http://www.geocities.com/myasftools/. Hope this helps.

I tried using this Asf tools to convert a wmv to avi, but after it was done, and I tried playing, media player tried to download a codec which didn't work, and all I got was the sound.

ASF Tools relates in NO WAY to the original question.. He needs something that CUTS OUT PORTIONS OF A WMV... I need that as well..

ASF Tools is crappy if I do say so myself...

actually in asf tools, if u want to cut a wmv, click cut on the left hand side, u can figure it out.

Try with Windows Media Encoder from Microsoft site, It's including WMV editor inside, It's great tool for both encoder and edit wmv file
