Unfortunately, this board has gotten clogged with many, many d...f... who are only interested in downloading a pirate copy of the most recent blockbuster or porno flick. Also unfortunately, these 14 year olds have also chased away, I fear, many of the responsible, knowlegable VCD enthusiasts who have contributed to this forum.

“You vcd people are cornier than hackers!” I fully agree to the extent that it applies (as I'm sure that is your intent) to the primordial ooze who are using this legitimate format in the pursuit of piracy. You can check the FAQ to learn this forums true purpose.

Actually, VCD as a format is not illegal. I have purchased a couple of legitimate commercially pressed VCDs for films that have not been released on DVD (and no, they’re not films still in theatres, they really are legitimate).

I also find that burning VCDs is a (much) cheaper and quicker way of viewing and sharing test edits of my own films.

So please don’t condemn all of us here.

I agree with you about not condemning everyone here. I don't. It's just everywhere I look ppl are trying to sell vcds, and it does get old. I have no probs if ppl want to d/l vcds. Its just when they are so blatently stupid as to try and start an internet business selling illegal copies. So I guess i should redirect my statments towards the ones attempting to make money off of pirated vcds. I just wish they would realize that you can get busted and maybe serve time if they were to distribute illegal vcds, especially in large quantities. The way the news looks they would probably pin the nations piracy problems on you and exploit you as a super hacker that gets their thrils robbing Hollywood. Curiosity killed the cat. I had to check back!!

Thanks.

I am often slack-jawed at the stupidity of the many biffs on this board. However, much as it amuses me to watch my bull terrier run into walls with his melon head, I am amused watching these kids post their dirty deeds to the world and then watch them disappear when their ISP pulls the plug.

Russil (forum moderator) must have gotten tired of running the pirates off this board as he hasn't been seen in a while.

Cheers,

Well, Russil?
