By not getting credit ,does that mean they didn't have your name at the bottom or top of the article ? Did someone else get credit for it . I'd write another letter to them asking them to make a correction and give cedit where it's due . I saw in a " Mother Earth News " Wendy from the Dairy Goat forum on Lusenet had an article and her name was at the bottom.

What does the submission rules say? Never submitted an article, but the submission rules should say something about how they handle submission and those accepted for publication.

there was NO credit given to anyone on that article. I have email the editor (Dave), but havnt heard back yet,, not sure if I will either. I wondering if there is any "legal" recourse, not that I would,, it wasnt much of an article,, and since noone got "paid" for the article,,, but still,, there is a point to get across.

So tell us which article it was. The curious want to know. Okay, I want to know. I haven't finished reading my issue yet.

Maybe it has something to do with the latest problems one of the contributors is having with a con man/sex offender who got her name from the credits on her article. She lives in the next county from me and at the time she & her husband 'met' this fellow they had no idea he's on the national sex offender registry & a con man. They bought some horses from him & he even stayed with them for a couple of days when he delivered them. I guess he's made acquaintances with a number of contributors especially those with kids. I do know she contacted Countryside regarding the issue but I don't know if there's been any action taken. You'd think that legally they should have to give you credit for the article even if they had to just use your initials or something. Keep us posted.

when I sent it in,, it was my email addy and first name,,like I sign in here with,, they should have at leasy done that, since others get credit like that

Oh yeah, Kathy, I heard about that. Not good.

I swear it's getting really hard to trust anyone now a days. I was raised to believe in the basic goodness in people but over the years I've lost a lot of that trust. Too many people out there waiting to take advantage of anyone they can con. I struggle with that most of the time-I want to be kind & helpful-but I've been burned so many times that after a while you start being suspicious of most everyone's motives. Definitely not the best way to view humanity but it is a whole new world out there.

Kathy , about trusting people , it's not that it's a whole new world , I think it was always this way . That why people own dogs . They want someone they can trust.

got an email from Anne MArie today,,

""Yes, they should be credited. Please send your name (& address if you wish), and we'll remedy that. Thanks for writing and we apologize for the oversight. Anne-marie "" ,, not much of an explaination

Stan , there was a news paper where I used to live that had a peoples opinion section . They wouldn't print an opinion unless you gave your name and address. It's probably a legality , to have your name attached to an article, they need to know it's the person who he claims he is .
