FF Tactics for GBA

greenspun.com : LUSENET : All Things Final Fantasy II : One Thread

Ive heard of this, and Ive been wondering, is it just a rumour, or will/is there Tactics for GBA? Personally, I love my Gameboy Advance, as it boasts mucho-graphico and fits in a pocket, so I was wondering if Im finally going to be able to own myself a copy of Tactics (I didnt buy the PS version, Ive just played it).

Oh, and does anyone know of any plans for future FF Games towards GBA?

Well my cousin showed me an article from his Nintendo Power Mag and it said square used some money from nintendo to set up but they can only use that money if they are going to use the GBA to Gamecube link in their games. Sega already did this with Sonic advance and Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. And yes the rumor is true. The games to be released page says Final Fantasy Tactics on it under Gameboy Advance. Those GBA cartridges hold a lot of memory. Good thing I got one.

THANK GOD.It hasn't come out on PS over here but the GBA version might.

Hmm, I don't think that the GBA can support the greatness of this game. I seriously doubt it will be able to carry the same effect as playing it on your play station... but, who knows. It might turn out ok.

The GBA is half an N64. It would work. Just cartrige space would be a problem.

Haven't you noticed the N64 was shite...obviously being portable the games cant be too advanced but cartriges just dont cut it which is why nothing modern has it, except portable stuff...why not buy a ps1...thats portable enough if you have the LCD...christ you can buy cars with it installed for the back seats...

The N64 would have been good if it took CDs. But Nintendo has a thing on doing stupid stuff.

Actually, the GBA has the almost the same power of the PS, in fact, its even a bit better. The only thing that's lost on it is the DPI (Dots per inch), but thats just because they cant use a TV screen. But look at some of the games they have put out. Monster Rancher GBA, its excellent. Golden sun is an awsome RPG, if they can do that, they can do tactics.

And they can get some high quality graphics packed games on the GBA. I mean, before they Skooshed the RE project, look at the screenshots. Except it was 8-bit, that looked exactly like the Playstation version. If they could fit it on a cartridge that is about the size of a potato chip, they can do anything. And if they made it 32-bit compatable for the GBA, it would be one kickass installment to the Resident Evil series.

I was sure the GBA was better then the PS1. I just did not say it because I did not know for sure. The N64 could have been better then the ps1 but because of the cartridge and graphics chip, it was never able to beat it. The PS1 used a 33MHZ chip while the N64 used a 93 MHZ. I am still curious though as to how Nintendo is going to get a game that has at least 800 MB of space in a cartrige that has only passed around 10 MB of space. I checked the space by downloading a rom and it was 7 MB. Of course that is computer memory so it is probably different. Oh well if someone can explain this to me I would be a happy guy.

A Flash Cartidge for the GBA (it lets you store ROMS that you can use in your GBA) can hold 50 megs worth of information. So, they have 50 megs to work with.

And, if they could make Golden Sun, they should be able to do it.

I wasnt speaking of the hardware.... I was talking about the GREATNESS of this game, it is a amazing game. So don't mis-understand what I say. I'm sure the GBA can play the game, just don't think it will have the same impact with the screen being so small.

And also, -I have never owned/played a GBA- I'm not sure if the GBA has enough buttons to function battle rotation and such. and again, the small screen? are they going to have you scroll a lot of the battle field or are they going to make the characters extremely small and allow you to see the whole field. i'm sure if they use the battle rotation/zoom buttons then you can choose...

The screen is 50% bigger then the gameboy color screen so it should have room.

But still were talking about from a TV size sceen to a GBA, not a GBC to a GBA... that is quite a bit of difference...

You guys must be killer. I tried to play Tactics. The first fight at the temple, I won, but the one after that I got hammered. Even when I offed the Chemist first.

The only times I had problems with tactics is after the third battle of the game I needed to level a bit and get the battle system down. and then when I had to fight Weigraph all alone. -Said to be the hardest battle in the game even by Link.- which didn't turn out to be that hard after some character class switches and new abilities. but I absolutly love tactics and could level all day.
