I have purchased a 12" wide Japanese bronze temple bowl shaped gong that has a 1" hairline crack at the top of the bowl. Can anyone tell me how this be repaired? The crack affects the sound of the gong producing a buzz sound. Thanks.

I braised our gong yesterday, it is much better sounding and not up to complete sound but lots better than before. The node was right where the braise was.
