To answer your question about if i was raised Catholic, for about 4 years (when i was around 5 years old) I went to church faithfully and yes i was baptized. When my father and step mother separated she stopped taking us to church so therefore I did not take my first communion. I am now an adult and have 2 children and choose to follow my faith and am taking classes for my first communion. I wanted information on the steps to to confession so I can start learning ahead of time. Thank you for your response!! God Bless!! Heather

Don't confuse yourself by going ahead of the class...you will learn about confession when it is the right time and you will appreciate what you learn more because you will have learned all the other beautiful things there are to learn about the Catholic faith/church...

Be patient, you will learn about confession and will be well prepared and so ready for it when the time comes.

My being raised pre-Vatican 11 see me very much looking forward to the input of this thread. I have gone to confession in a car while travelling with a priest, in his office and in front of the Tabernacle housing the Eucharist. The first was pre-Vatican 11 and the others post.

The most important step of all is to be deeply sorry for having sinned; for offending God. All the other steps follow from this absolute necessity. God wants contrition, not forms. Recall the words of David the Prophet:
