Hi, my Sony VX1000 is displaying a condensation alert. The instructions say to eject the cassette and leave it open and powered up for one hour to dry out. However, the cassette will not eject. I have the same problem. My vx1000 stopped while playing a tape and will not eject. All that shows on the display is the cassette bad sysbol and the battery icon. No other functions work.

I sent the camera for repair to a local Sony dealer and was charged approx. US$250. The problem apparently was not condensation but a burnt out logic chip.
