How to treat a injured groin?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Fitness, Exercise, Sports Injury Recovery : One Thread

I am a 21 year old soccer player and about two months a go I pulled my left groin. I took a two week rest but still I felt the pain, not only on the groin area but also on my lower abs. I tried different things inorder to recover, I left weight do extra sit ups and a lot strechings and it's still the same. Every time when I go for soccer practice I warm up first ( jog for half a mile) then strech. I've noticed every time when I strech, I feel more pain on the groin area. Can you guys please give me some advise on how to treat a injured groin? Thank you

I believe you are agrivating the injury more. You should use some heat methods at this point, it is to late for ice. If this does not work see a sports medicine doctor/ physician.
