Falling standards in Laramie?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : orienteer kansas : One Thread

Has anyone else noticed that the results service from the 1000-day is missing Swmpfox's proclaimed "Cowboy" standard (same-day service), falling to the very mediocre "USOF" standard, with the first event, the Stampede, falling perhaps to the wretched "Tio-Mila" standard (partial results within a day or so, full results promised but never devlivered)?

Has love interfered with Swampfox's usual efficiency?

That certainly has not gone unnoticed!

Having seen the new standard set by Tio-Mila this year (still being set???) we have decided to exceed that, if possible. But it's not going to be easy!

I for one am glad to see that Swampfox is spending his time reading and posting to the OK forum instead of, say, making sure results get updated soon. The first priority should ALWAYS be reading the OK forum. It is acceptable to consider organizing events and posting results as a second priority.

Mary went to the 1000-days web page to check out the latest results and was greated by this message:

Sorry, this site is temporarily unavailable! The web site you are trying to access has exceeded its allocated data transfer

It helps if you have some mojo working. I don't know if Mary (or Spike) has any mojo working. But try again. If too many people look at the 1000 Day site at once, it shuts down for an hour. We designed it that way to maintain an air of exclusivity. Sort of like driving a Lexus instead of a Yugo. But definitely get some mojo working, and try again sometime!

What the 1000 Day results lack in timeliness, they more than make up for in file size. A 780kB file must be some sort of record for the results list of a US A-meet! Keep 'em coming! I can't wait to see the long blue course.
