Can my husband get an annulment without telling me?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread

Me and my husband has been married since March 23rd of 2001, and now we are separated. He wants to get an annulment. Since I am not catholic myself, I am not sure about what is going on. Can he get an annulment without me signing anything, or agreeing to anything? Does he even have to tell me when he gets it?

If he asks for an annulment the Church Tribunal will probably get in touch with you to ask you to verify his facts that he provides the Tribunal. No, he cannot do it secretly.

I agree with Fred, Malin. You will be contacted and allowed to give testimony, if you wish. You will also be notified of what happens.
However, the nullity process cannot even be started by your husband and his pastor until after your divorce is final. You said that you are merely "separated."

My ex-husband had our marriage annulled without telling me. The church never notified me - either before or after granting the annulment. I learned about the annulment from a mutual friend.
