Catholic Annulment

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread

My wife is a practicing Catholic. Our daughter, while not Catholic, married a Catholic and their daughter (our granddaughter age 8) is being raised a Catholic. They were divorced due to his abusive behavior. Now he has informed her that he is getting an annullment against her wishes. Do you know of any groups of similarly situated ex-spouses that can help her with information and support? Thank you.

Response to Catholic Annullment

Good day, sir.
I know of no such group, but actually she needs no support group.
Instead, she is welcome to phone/visit her husband's pastor to discuss her rights (i.e., to testify, with or without witnesses, to appeal a decision, etc.) -- or she may phone/visit the Catholic bishop's office to speak to a neutral expert.
God bless you.
John
