Poe's meaning is clear ... the moral of 'Red Death' is that you should always read something before asking questions about it.

One of the best things about reading his work is searching for meaning. It can get pretty hard, but try to bring in your own ideas before searching for those of others. You might discover something, and "The Masque of the Red Death" is certainly worth reading.

This is not a poem. I read the story a long time ago, so i can't remember... wait a minute, It might mean that you can't run away from death and fear, no matter what you do, even if you build a castle. The story is very short. READ IT!!!
