Oh, brother! Skakels' mercy plea for murderous Michael

THE Skanky Skakel clan actually had the nerve to launch an organized appeal for mercy for murderous Michael Skakel, the only Kennedy kin who didn't get away with murder. Well, he did for 27 years, but that's beside the point.

Skakel's brother Stephen pleads in an e-mail sent out to supporters (this must be a group of one), that poor jailed Michael is "scared," "humbled," and "hopeless." This, you will note, is better than Martha Moxley, who is dead, gone and buried.

In even more vile pleadings, the bro goes on to encourage Kennedy clanners to note how much good Michael has done in their letters to the judge prior to Skakel's sentencing, including things like "mentor to my children."

This is like asking the court to show mercy to Jeffrey Dahmer because he was an excellent cook.

LOL that reference to Dahmer should be sent to the judge, too.

Skakel has had freedom for 27 years - essentially the best 27 years of his potential life. I wonder if that will be considered.

Is the death penalty a choice here or is life in prison the sternest?

Not that he's earned life in prison since as you mentioned he has been free for most of it.

I think the death penalty would be appropriate here. There was a jury, right?, and they found him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, right?

If the limit is life in prison, give it to him. If there is a chance of the death penalty, give it to him.

It will no doubt be years before he serves any sentence while the appeals process is played out.

meanwhile, that poor girl is still dead and has been, at an early age. What was she, sixteen or something?

I assumed he was in jail, pending appeal, since the time of the verdict.

If he is, he must be a flight risk.
