Maybe we need to declare independence again.

Happy 4th of July to you too Kathy, and everyone on the forum.

May we remember all of our military who is fighting for our freedom, and for those who have died for our freedom. May we remember the souls who died on 9/11/02.

May we pray for President Bush that God give him wisdom. While we are enjoying our barbecues and lots of food on our tables tomorrow, may we remember how lucky we are to live in this land of plenty.

I hope we see lots of flags flying tomorrow - too soon, too many forgot.

God Bless America! Under one God!

Hi dear ones, it's 55 minutes after the 4'th... but some thoughts on independence. ..from Galations 5:13,14... "For you were called for freedom brothers, but do not use this freedom as an opportunity for the flesh; rather, serve one another through love. For the whole law is fulfilled in one statement, namely, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself. But if you go on biting and devouring one another, beware that you are not consumed by one another. "

and from Phil.4:11.. "I have learned in whatever situation I find myself, to be content". Jesus won our real freedom on calvary. There is no freedom like that interior peace and freedom from Him. He frees us from fears, doubts, negative ways of thinking, unforgiveness, all kinds of invisible ties that keep us bound up. He frees us from shame and guilt, and from curses and sinful patterns passed down from past generations, so good is He to us. May this freedom truly be ours, may we stay on our knees before Him, submit ourselves and our nation to Him, that He may continue to heal us and our land. Mary Lu, your faith and zeal is delightful, Cindy Brown thank you for your witness to God's power in your life!

Hi John,

Thank you John! And yeah it is a neat coincidence. When he was little he thought the fireworks were just for him, and that everyone was helping to celebrate HIS birthday!

That is precious, cksunshine!
Guess what? My Mom and Dad were married on July 4, more than 50 years ago. It was over 90 degrees!

Last night's displays were awe-inspiring to say the least. Millions of people, I hope, were contemplating what it means to be American. I know I sure did; the millions of young men who died for our freedoms, the Civil War, the Native Americans, where we are today as a country. As I listened to deafening sounds of firecrackers bursting through the silence, I thought of wars, and rumors of war, about Israel and Palestine, about all the innocents who die daily at the hands of the abortionists, about new life, children, kittens, puppies, ice cream cones and carousels. I thought of the utter desperation of starving children, persecuted brethren, and I cried in my heart . . .

Even so, Come Lord Jesus!
