Ideas for green 2litre plactic soda bottles?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : CountrySide Family : One Thread

They recently revoked the deposit law around here, "drawing the homeless". Anyway, I won't go there!

Thing is, I like to drink ginger ale mixed with juice. BTW Granny, I also loved my diet coke on occasion, but NO MORE! After reading your testimonial, not worth it!!!! Thanks. And sorry. :-(

So, I can recycle them, but the nearest drop off is a half an hour away. So I was trying to think of something I could use them for. A LOT of them, heh. They are kind of a pretty green. I don't need pots, I worked at a greenhouse and had my own for years, so have tons of supplies. I've seen them made into wind spinner things, but wasn't unduly impressed....but the idea had possibilities. The ones I saw were individual, I thought maybe using many to contruct some kind of.....thing! Think of those wind spinners that lady had in "twister", lol. I know, I grabbin'!

So, any ideas????

I use the green ones to store water, I put 5 drops of bleach per bottle and fill with the county water. I only treat the ones I plan on storing more than a few weeks. I have 60 gal barrels for drinking water storage but those 2ltr ones are handy for carrying out to the different small animal areas and for watering hanging plants. I keep a couple in the trunk of the car too in case it overheats. Since I don't get an over abundance that's the only thing I use them for.

Hummingbird feeders. Just add a little red.

Anyone fish in your family. You could use them to jug fish for cat fish. Tie line and hook, bait and let drift. Check now and then and move back up wind or close to where you caught a few. Also could use as markers when fishing. Check your local laws but they use 50 around here.

Oh, I should have thought of that! I fish, but haven't fished for catfish like this for awhile. Set some poles with a friend not long ago, he uses pvc, and the bottles. Thanks!
