"Are you a Cancer, you are ain't cha?"

greenspun.com : LUSENET : CountrySide Family : One Thread

Today as I was just getting home, I ran into Al, he's the friendly Electric COOP guy. He's in charge of assessing trees in the lines. I've met him before, heck of a nice ol guy! Told me all about his school teacher wife, she teaches English and his volcabulary drives her nuts, apparently her favorate phrase is "OH AL!!!" He grew up on a dairy and would love to live off the beaten track, so he stands around with a silly grin, scuffin his shoes and smiling at the critters. Talks about his grandkids.

So, my trees are in the lines pretty bad, but only scrub stuff, no biggy, can you say firewood and mulch? :-)

This is my question, today he sez, "I was thinkin' when I pulled up at sher place, that gal is a Cancer for sure!, are you a Cancer, you are ain't cha?" "I'm not, I'm a pisces", sez I. "I'll be dipped, I'm a Pisces too!" then he shook my hand enthusiastically, like I should be congratulated on my great good fortune! This left me confused. ;-)

I'm not familiar with Cancers. Is anyone a Cancer? How would you describe Cancer "traits"?? Just curious! He drove away and I thought, HEY! Wait a minute! lol

My husband is a Cancer: he's honest(to a fault), loyal, driven(that sounds bad more like really commited to his work), funny(tells corny jokes),and my favorite a loving family oriented man. He was born 7/11/49. I think he was trying to give you a compliment, he sound like a nice old guy. My Co-Op meter reader is like that, he always takes time to talk each month.

Cancers are either very crabby and introverted (like the crab) or very extroverted. My guess is that your natural Piscean outgoing nature is what made him think you were one of us. I would take it as a compliment! (of course lol) Most water signs have a lot of the same traits.

Hi Tom!

Actually he made the assumption looking at the farm, when I wasn't home. We had met before, but I doubt it was memorable. I wondered if Cancers were lax about mowing, as mine sure needed it! HaHa!

I'm not really outgoing, kind of I guess. Many picses I know are VERY quiet. The ones born in Feb....maybe, hard to tell. My father, sister and I are born within 3 days of each other, staggered. We are REALLY different.

Patty, although I'm sure Tom won't admit to it, at least one Cancer is lax on getting to the yardwork.:):), lucky for him I like doing it. Hope you have a great week, KA
