is there an easy non poisoness way to get rid of moles?? seems Im being overrun this year,, and stalking them is such a slow process

Hi Stan,

There is good news and bad news. The good news is that moles are almost exclusive insectivores and work at aerating the soil. The bad news is that they are basically here to stay and nearly impossible to erradicate completely from an area. Because they eat insects, poisons are ineffective and gasing is only minimally effective in very dense, clay soil types. Shotguns work great if you have time to site in a lawn chair, don't mind the act of killing, and live in a rural area. Trapping remains the most effective solution but check your local laws. Some states are beginning to enact bans on body traps and depending on how the laws are written, may include mole and gophers.

I hear they love coffee grounds but it is not a quality life decision for them to choose to eat them. Open the runs here and there and dump in used grounds and cover it back. Good Luck
