Can yellow men jump? Rockets pick 7'-5" Yao as #1

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unk's Troll-free Private Saloon : One Thread

#1 NBA draft pick is China's 7'-5", 300# Yao Ming taken by Houston Rockets. Should be interesting to see this guy play Shaq.

Are human beings becoming too big? How many airline seats does this guy require?

Yao dunkee on Shaq. You rooze now, lound eye devils

Walton, you are without doubt the most irritating sports-caster ever. Shaq will eat Yao's lunchee. He hasn't a Chinaman's chance.

This begs the question, if you are 7'5", what's the point in jumping?

Ask Shawn Bradley

Shouldn't they ask someone that can jump.

Becha Sacremento wouldn't trade Mike Bibby for Chairman Yao.

300# is pretty light when spread over 7 five to out muscle Shaq. Trouble is this guy has a pretty good outside shot to boot. Gonna be a player.

For a big man, he's a heckuva ping-pong player. Darn clever, these Chineee.

The bust of the draft.

A voice of sanity.

How are you FS?

Jack Boot

I am good overall. On vacation this week so I have time to check in. Business has been overwhelmingly good, and we have been incredibly busy both in business and in non-business sectors.

I was not having fun anymore debating with myself.

When Sasquatch is finally discovered, do you think he would be a good NBA player?

-- (lars@indy.net), July 03, 2002.

Lars, a penetrating question. It raises the issue of inter-species sport (an issue that our speciesist leaders prefer to ignore). I say let's confront the issue directly: Should orangutans be allowed to be on the Malayan Olympic gymnastics team? Should Dolphins be allowed on the Bahamian swim team?

What is a species anyhow? Aren't species merely a social construct? Don't mice and men share 95% DNA?

Thank you Lars.

How do you think Abdul Jabbar would have played Shaq? Bill Russell? Wilt Chamberlain? Walton?
