It would depend on what type vcr you are using to play back on that is what the format is for if you are using a vcr from america do not get pal version it may play but either you want hear sound or you want see picture the reason I know my brother ordered a tape for me song of the south I have wanted it since I was little they never released it in america so it is in pal I can see the picture but it rolls so hope that helps happy new year
