Here’s the best site for more information: The Department of Public Health: http://www.dph.sf.ca.us/, street address: Community Health Epidemiology and Disease Control, SF Department of Public Health, 25 Van Ness Avenue, Suite 710, San Francisco, CA 94102 If you click on “Find It” on the home page and enter “homeless deaths,” you will get a whole slew of reports.

You can also look at: The Bay Area Homeless Program, http://thecity.sfsu.edu/~bahp/

View the Medical Examiner’s listing for 1998: http://www.dph.sf.ca.us/Reports/Homeless/RptHomeless98.pdf This is in Adobe Acrobat. That’s a free download if you don’t have it (http://www.adobe.com/).

Even the Homeless Coalition site only has data up to 1998: http://www.sf-homeless-coalition.org/deaths.html

At least 113 homeless people have died on the streets of San Francisco in the past year, and more of them than in previous years were women and people with AIDS, according to an annual study scheduled for release today by the Tenderloin Times
