Time Out to Pray for Each Other

greenspun.com : LUSENET : The Christian Church : One Thread

As Christians, we often face fierce opposition, rejection and ridicule in increasingly hostile environment towards the New Testament church; but the day-to-day temptations we all face can often become our undoing. When I look at myself in the spiritural mirror of God’s Word, I confess that I don’t like what I see and I yearn for a better day in my walk with Christ. Could we take time out today, as leaders among God’s flock, just to uphold each other in prayer? Thank you :) I need that!

Hey Phil,

I may be a day late (hopefully not a dollar short), but I'll definitely lift you up tonight!

God bless, Scott

Hey, great idea...

I've been thinking about choosing just 2 individuals who I know but are far away and basically out of touch on a regular basis...

and committ to pray for them daily.... asking them to do the same, ie., pick two of their own...

Kinda like a prayer AMWAY...

I'm gonna call it PRAY it forward...

"PRAY IT FORWARD" - I like that Duane! Maybe we could turn it into a regular feature in this forum, do you suppose? I will pray for you right now Duane:

"Father God,

I pray that you would bless Duane's idea to commit ourselves to prayer for each other, especially for those of us who participate in this forum. May your grace be upon us as we call on others to do the same. Please work your will in and through us by the power of your Holy Spirit who indwells us. In Christ's name I pray these things, AMEN!"

I didn't see any street corners until Duane took a left turn!

Dear beloved, Our expectations are flying high as we anticipate this summer's youth camp which is scheduled to start on this coming July 7th in Ensenada. This will be our first full-week camp since the Jalisco church opted to conduct its own program over 12 years ago. We had been having regular annual Easter retreats and summer family camp, but this will be the first one specifically designed to reach out to youth with the Gospel of salvation in Christ Jesus. We hope and pray that this event will turn into a major outreach program that will bring kids together from both sides of the US/Mexico fence. Camp fees in the US have become so prohibitive in some areas, that this may be a great option for young people to come to evangelize those from their own age group and enjoy good Christian fellowship at the same time. We will be receiving groups from Washington, Montana, Arizona and Ensenada. I hear that several of the young people from Arizona have not made a decision for Christ yet, but they have been regular participants to the home study groups. That will be a very interesting experience indeed. Please be praying that they will not leave camp without having at least seriously considering a decision for the Lord. Please be praying for Wayne Goodman as he shares the Scriptures with these kids throughout the week. I will also be presenting a series on the subject of "God's Will for My Life". Our dear friends from Oak Harbor, WA. will be providing 20 scholarships to help with expenses. In closing, I would also like to request your prayers for our family's trip to Oregon right after the youth camp. We hope to engage in productive fellowship with all our dear friends and partners in ministry.
