The United States Orienteering Federation today announced the recipient of its 2002 Menninger Most Inconsistent Training Log Award. The 2002 award was given to Daniel P. "Snorkel" Meenehan of Orienteer Kansas. The award, which was first given in 2001, is given annually to the orienteer in USOF who best exemplifies how not to maintain an on-line training log.

According to Jon Nash, the USOF publicity chairman, the award, which is named for its inaugural winner, was an 'easy' choice this year. "Every year we search the internet for orienteers who (supposedly) are maintaining on-line training logs. We seek out those who time and time again fail to account for their training in a timely manner. Mr. Meenehan's training log stood out above the rest as a shining example of how inconsistent and negligent one can be."

The Menninger award comes with a cash prize of $10,000 which is to be mailed to the recipient on the one-year anniversary of the award, with one stipulation. To receive the cash prize, the awardee is expected to revise his ways and immediately begin to maintain a up-to-date and complete on-line training log.

What Mook does not understand is that attackpoint is up to date. I have lost all motivation except for when Gene mentioned at last Thursday's training that he was eligible for the Clydsdale catagory which starts at 175lbs. I got jealous and motivated to not be outdone by mean gene so beings I was only 5 lbs away I knew I could do it. I am happy to report I have made and exceeded my goal. There is one catch though, I guess to be in that class you actually have to run in a race. Opps, didn't really take that into account. Well I'm just happy to have achieved my goal. Plus since my online training is up to date, I will be expecting a check sometime before 200#.
