Ok I actually have a Final Fantasy Question

greenspun.com : LUSENET : All Things Final Fantasy II : One Thread

Alright this is actually two questions. Please help if you can. If you didn't play FFV or FFVI you might as well not read the rest.

1.) I'm playing FFV now (you'll see why I'm not playing FFVI in question #2) and I'm at Rikks Village. I went up in the air to shoot those cannon things, but then there are those things with a LOT of HP. I tried going to the Library of Ancients and learning the LV5 Doom spell, but my characters are level 16 and my Blue Mage can't learn the move until he's level 20. Anyway, I'm going to try to get a lot of thunder-type spells and such. But here comes the stumper, I defeated Ramuh and he and Ifrit were talking in the battle or something, but I never received the summon magic after defeating Ramuh. My Summoner (Reina) is Level 16, Summon level 3, and you only have to be level 2 to summon Ramuh. So I figured that can't be the reason. Earlier today, I went around the same forest wondering if Ramuh would appear again, but to no avail. I really need to find a quick way to defeat this cannon boss. Leveling up would take me forever, and considering how often I'm grounded from using my PSX it'd take me about 2 years to beat this damn game even if I DID level up. If anyone can help or give suggestions, please do. On to question number 2...

2.) Ok, about 2 weeks ago, I began playing FFVI. I started getting really into it and I liked it a lot. But I'm at the part where you must defeat Vargas and use Sabin's Blitz attack. I beat Vargas' little monsters easily, then I did some amount of HP to Vargas and Sabin comes in. I know the Blitz combination is < > < and X (or Enter). But I try entering it in and it always says "Incorrect Blitz Input" or something like that. I tried beating Vargas and entering the Blitz commands at different times during Sabin's preparation for the attack, but nothing has worked thus far. Is there any way to stop that death clock at this point in the game? Or is there a way for me to defeat Vargas without using the Blitz command? Maybe I'm just doing this wrong. I don't know, but the FF Anthology Strategy Guide seriously sucks when you need it the most. (BTW, I only bought one because I got stuck at these parts in FFV and FFVI).

Thanks in advance for anyone who decides to help! ^_^ Sorry I made this post so long!

well, in ff5 if you defeat Ramuh, you get an item called "ramuh" ;). look it up in your item list and use it. theeeeeeen ONLY you can use it in battle.

and for the 2nd quistion, im not sure, but maybe you could try ><>, but I believe its <>< too hmmm, ok, I dunno I'm not a ff genius.

I play ff6 on an emulator, and it's always been "Right, left, right"...as far as ther other question, DZ is right..i remeber when i first played ff5 and i bear ifirit,(sp?) and i couldnt find where it was...you have to select it from the item list, and it automatically goes to the esper list.

I'll be damned. You guys are both right! Ramuh is an "item" you have to use, and I don't think you can't beat Vargas without a blitz. When you use it, he speaks to Sabin, and that's that. If <>< doesn't work, try it in reverse? Are you using a PS or SNES? That's the only thing I can think of...???

I'll start first by saying: Wow, you must have a social life if you can get in enough trouble tonot finish ffV in 2 yrs. Or, maybe, you have no social life and get in trouble for hacking... eh.. who cares huh ? Hmm I haven't played the -older- Final Fantasy ( uh, before ff7 ) but I would trust Davey 'cause he is the master of swords and Arcane Final Fantasy Knowledge, forgotten by the newcomes of the series (heh, me).. hmm.. that is all.

i havnt played ffVI in like 4 years so im not sure about this, but you might be able to try a different blitz like aura bolt, i think its like quarter cirlcle toward and x. Or maybe the problem is your not entering the blitz combo fast enough you cant hesitate between buttons. Cant help you in ffV at all tho, ive been laying numero uno

Well you have to do it slowly and make sure the pad is not moving in another direction. Hit the pad slowly. Don't try to do it fast because it is not like a fighter where you have to put in the combo in a fast pace. Just hit left wait a sec then right wait a sec then left and enter. Hope it works

Try a different blitz. If you don't know any others (as you can't check)Try up, down, triangle, square.it will work fine as I used Aurabolt and it killed the fartface.(trying to tomne down the language.)
