I have a snowblower and want to make a go kart. Is this possible? Any ideas would be appreciated. I also have an old lawnmower and engine.

well dude, a snow blower could work with alot of manhours and many expensive parts. just do what i did, use an old riding mower engine. i tuned mine just right and i can go about 60mph. 30mph offroad. must make sure you get the right conversion kit for the accel....i learned that one the hard way

Is a not such a good ideea but you can try. I want to build a kart by taking the motor from a motorcycle and make the frame my self!IF any one have plans with karts ,the simpleast they can be,with dimensions please sent them to me via e-mail! yeh I've been making go carts for 15 years and they are very easy to make I can make the whole cart for around $100 tires engine and frame and all.I just buy the full lawn tractor for $25 to 50 and make the frame from the differentail to using the complete steering system tires to complete roll cage I will be making plans by fall for $5.00 each with step by step detailed information and complete phone number incase if problems arise

it is not as easy as one might think. lawnmower engines have a few problems. here are a few of them. 1) the Lawnmower uses the blade as a flywheel to keep the engine balanced. without it they tend to shake like a leaf. 2) lawnmowers use direct vertical drive shafts, this means that to hook it to the axel system you need either a transaxel which tend to be fairly expensive. or you have to use a series of different angeles gearing systems. which cut out on your power and decrease your torque. lastly the most important thing is this....lawnmowers are made to go about 5 mph most go karters like to go faster than that. the speed conversion kits run about 900$. you might want to consider just buying a GO-KART engine for around 250$, they ususally come with a number of parts you will need anyways.

if you want a go kart bad enuff you can build one with a trans axil out of a lawn mower and you dont haft to spend $9oo on a speed kit thats bull shit im 14 years oldand i built one with a transaxil you just change the pully on the transaxil to a small one and put a big one on the motorshaft and boom you can put it in 1st and you go about 7mph you put it in the higest gear and you go about 35mph well hell you take the govnor off the motor and you can squise out about 50mph so try that you can build one for about $15

my boss told me when he was a kid they used to put lawnmower engines on bicycle frames. only problem was they didnt have brakes and had to stop by dragging their feet.think about it, bicycles wiegh less. less wieght = more speed!

This is comepletely possible. All you need is a 25 dollar centerfugal clutch and a good chain. The rest can be made, except for tires. It;s simple how it works.Just attach the clutch to the axle and get a throttle cable, when push the throttle the clutch engages making you go.

I have a sport bike that i found at a junkyard it is fairly new and the engine turns ..... i got the engine and motorcycle to work. i dont want a motorcyle i want something differenet. how would i go about making a "go-kart" out of all of the parts of the motorcycle. WHAT WOULD I NEED TO BUY.
