Masters and Debutante Ball

greenspun.com : LUSENET : A.M.E. Today Discussion : One Thread

A little while ago Bill Dickens posted a question about the Debutante and Masters ball. I am still new to the denomination and I would like to know what they are. Perhaps this is something our church can do? Joy in Christ!

Rev. Rogers, If you would forward your mailing address to me at my email address, I will send you a copy of the DMC material so you can implement this "Introduction to Christian Society" program in your church. While the DMC operates as a seperate component group, it comes under the auspices of the Christian Education Department.

The Christian Debutante-Master Dedication Commission is not a Debutante ball but rather a rite of passage in the A.M.E. Church. The DMC WAS Organized in 1972 BY Dr. Julma Crawford. The DMC is focused on the period of transition from adolescence to adulthood. The purpose of the DMC is to provide guidance and information as to revelant study of fieldwork activities, program suggestions, liturgical requirements, and all other details. For additional info please feel free to contact me. Loretta Hill,Administrator Christian Debutante-Master Dedication Commission

Hello,

I am the Teen Ministry Leader at my church and I would love to implement the Debutante and Masters Ball into our program. If at all possible may I receive a copy of the materials.

Yours in Christ, Gwendolyn V. Payne
