Pradovit Instructions

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

I just bought a Leica Pradovit P150 on eBay, but I didn't get instructions. One would think that a slide project like the P150 would be self-explanitory. The green button advances the slide and the adjacent toggle works for making small focus adjustments. How can I change the direction of the slide tray and back, if I want to go back several slides and go forward again? The autofocus works if I make the initial adjustment by moving the lens up front, but sometimes if I use the focus toggle, the projector will auto-focus the next slide out of focus. I guess I need instructions. Can someone send me a scanned copy of the functions by email. Thanks for the help.

You can call Leica USA 800-222-0118 and there's a menu prompt for manuals. You leave your name and address on the voicemail and they'll send you one. The functioning of the AF as you describe it is typical for AF slide projectors. They are not in the same league as AF cameras...basically my expensive RT-S works the same (poor) way as the first AF projector I ever had, a Nikkormat (Sawyers) Autofocus I bought in 1970.

Hold the green button down a little longer and the tray will go backwards. Quick touches will advance forward - as normal.

The auto refocussing is a problem on all slides as they 'pop' under the heat. Im going to disable the auto focussing on mine when I have time to get round to it. It should be pretty easy, just a set of cogs near the projection lens
