Sacred Heart of Jesus~Feast Day

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread

Today is the Feast Day of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I thought we should all recognize this by visiting the following webpage and perhaps, reciting the Sacred Heart Novena to our Lord.

God Bless and Peace be with you all~

Hi, Jackiea.

Thank you for letting us know the feast day is celebrated today. I did go to that site and recite the "Sacred heart Novena to Our Lord". I asked Our Lord that my Prayers go for, your pain to give you a break! :-) May God bless you.

Thanks, Jackiea!

I see that it is a good site to visit today, too -- on the feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

You're very welcome. :) Yes, I meant to mention that in the first post, John but I obviously forgot. Thanks for letting everyone know.

And thank you for the prayers, David. That's really very kind of you. It always amazes and pleases me to know that there are people out there, that I really don't even know, that are praying for my well being. It was a pretty rough day yesterday but thankfully, I'm getting there. I've been focusing on the picture of the Sacred Heart of Jesus that I have here by my desk and it helps tremendously.

Well, God bless and you all take care~

You're very welcome Jackiea. I will pray for you today too. I hope you feel better. Thank you for the prayers you said for my Mom last year, when I requested prayers for Mom. I am sure your prayers helped Mom get better. (Thank God)

Blessed be God, a million, million, million times.

Jackiea,

Thank you very much for starting this thread. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary, and all these years I never realized that we were married on the Feast Day of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. (I am assuming that it is the same every year, like Christmas). I am very excited to know this now!

CK

Congrats to both of you. How many years if you wish to tell? Now you both can celebrate together.

Blessings.

cksunshine,

I don't want to "puncture your ballon" but, although you may have just celebrated your wedding anniversary on the Feast of the Sacred Heart, you may not have been married originally on that feast.

Your assumption that it is the same date every year, "like Christmas", is wrong. The Feast of the Sacred Heart is celebrated on the Friday after the Second Sunday after Pentecost, so it varies from year to year just as Easter (or Pentecost) does. Since Easter can vary by more than a month (earliest is March 22, latest is April 25), Pentecost and Sacred Heart which both come a fixed number of days after Easter also vary by as much on the solar calendar dates.
