OK, we got the new puter from Dell on Monday night. I was following the UPS tracking so I knew it would come on this day and wanted to be sure I was home for it - hence, no errands. It finally came at 5:45 pm. Should have seen it as a Bad Omen, but with the 666 tattooed on my bald head. . .anyway. . .I get everything plugged in (no Gil Newsom comments please) and it worked fine except there was no internet connection. Seems the cable modem and the new computer did not want to play nice with each other. Kept getting a message that the modem was "not plugged in" (do you sense a Gil theme going on here?)

ANYWAY after a week of dealing with this mess, including having to be home for a tech to come and 1)replace the network card (didn't help) and 2)replace the hard drive (like there has ever been a problem with my hard drive), and spending countless hours on the phone between Dell and my cable company, I finally got a hold of someone in the "advanced problem" department at Dell. As a last ditch effort he said to 1)move the network card to a different slot on the motherboard (insert piggy joke here) and if that didn't work, 2)take the network card out of our old computer and put it in the new one. Welllllll, finally #2 worked! Fucking amazing (can we say Fuck here?) that I could have solved this on my own from day one. Anyway, I am getting a free photo printer from Dell for all my headache and wasted time, so I see it as a "good thing".

Anywhooo, I'm enjoying catching up on the Pig Banter today. Missed you guys! Hope Elkhart will work out for a reunion. If Gilly's wedding plans don't work out, remember we always have Chicago! It's no big deal for me to take a Wednesday off so I would technically be free from Monday - Friday night if we can find days that work for everyone. It's just weekends that suck for me. We do get paid vacation days, but that's just salary, and not tips (of course) but Taking a weekend off is like taking a week off with no pay. Ah well, at least I love my job. We also have plenty of room for everyone to stay (I think I already told you that our living room is bigger than my first studio!). Bruce is really looking forward to meeting you all (albeit with a hint of trepidation in his voice).

Dwell, thanks for waiting for me to hit the forum. It's good to be here at last.

Yep, we can say fuck or flatulence or desiderata if we so choose. We're basically all alone in here. (Thus I can use the UNC-G URL as a joke and not piss anyone off.) I'm "responsible" for what we do, but there is no-one to respond to that gives a flying crap, so....let 'er rip!!!

Glad to have you here, Craig. It felt funny without you!

Now you too can experience the joy I feel as the screen reads, "Attempting to insert. Success! Congratulations! Insert complete!" Feels good to make the computer orgasm.

Now if only women would be so kind as to say, "Success, congratulations!!!" It would make things simpler...."uh, was that, uh, o.k.?" "Sure". I'd rather have some fanfare and a pat on the back!!

Is that what they mean by cybersex, Teej??

OK, I've been meaning to do this, but with all the filthy junk email I get, I'm wanting to start a thread of the "smuttiest email subject of the day from Chip's inbox" such as dated June 9. There are usually better ones, but that's all I could find im my junk mail folder at this time. Let me know if this is too much for all you "family" types!

Welcome Craigee!! Your insertions are succesfully welcomed. Does anyone besides me wonder if TJ has difficulty typing? I know that Rich doesn't even bother getting on (or admit to getting on) but with TJ, you know he's reading all this mail, enjoying all the wit, humor, philosophy, wisdom, and perspicacity his learned friends generate as a matter of course, and then occassionally submits some monosyllabic excretion of pith and humor (please note double entendre, all my fellow learned friends) only to scurry back into quietude. Mebbe it's just that I'm long winded. I suppose that could be it.

So the Chip Clup tour sold it. Looks like September 16, 17 in Elkhart is a go from my end. Say WOOHOOO!!! That'll be some barbecue! Do you think your parents will let us use their place? Don't tell them about Gilly! Hell, we probably won't know for sure that he's coming until he shows up at 11:00 monday night with a bottle of bourbon, but don't even hint to them of the possibility, or the Elkhart chamber of commerce might even intervene on your parent's behalf. No, it's just a couple of old friends from your sophomore English Class getting together to share their favorite excerpts from the letters of Jane Eyre. Or something. Looking forward to it gents. Richard... Oh, Riiiichard. Where are you?

Hey, Andy, chill out a little. My 65 to 70 per week don't allow me much time on the work computer when we're busy. My reticence about the reunion is embarrasment, because I just don't see how I can do it. Not with present employment, anyway. It is so much harder to just quit than it was before the family thing. I still remember when I could quit anything anytime I wanted, a privelege I abused. What the hell is a double entrail, anyway? Big words perplex me, you know that. Can't you see my perplexment? I am still trying to work out the Sept. thing, don't give up yet

Love to you all

At least he didn't say pith and vinegar.....ugh. That's a double puntendre. Rich, you can do it, man. Remember the little train? I think I can, I think I can... Heck, if we all make it, Teej will just Have to come!! Bottle of bourbon...last time I bought a bottle of bourbon was four years ago, and it was a pint. And it lasted me six months...I think I may be out of shape for this shebang, but I'll be there with bells on...Lord willin' and the creek don't rise, as my mom always says.

Andy, you are bringing the kit and kaboodle to the cookout, right? Otherwise my kids will have to terrorize Rachel without any help. It's Rachel, right, Rich? Hey, if she comes then we can team up and match Andy's brood for a game of full contact jacks or something.

Oh, and Craig's parents actually LIKE me...I think. They pretended to anyway. Maybe they were just humoring me until I went away?

Oh, and Craig--you feel free to start a thread on anything you want to. As long as feta cheese and frilly underthings on hamsters is not included, I think we'll be o.k. If it's too nasty we'll beg you to stop....don't....stop....don't...stop,don't stop, don't stop....
