Ricoh GR1s Flashgreenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread |
I know this isn't a Leica question, however you lot seem to know more than most!I have a Ricoh GR1s and want to under-expose the flash. Is this possible? I was told it can be done by using the exposure compensation dial on the top left, but surley this compensates the film, not the flash?
Am I missing something?

from what I understand of the GR1 flash management system, the only way to reduce flash while maintaining proper ambient exposure is to cover it with some translucid paper. again from what I understand, there is no true TTL management of flash on GR1: flash duration seems to be linked to film speed, aperture and distance info. that means the system will not try to increase flash output if you dim it with paper.
