"Goober" the grown Pekin duck at ole jeeps house is afeered of the water! Ole jeep took'm to the pond, put'm down and stood back and watched. Goober promptly got out of the pond and waddled over to where old jeep was waitin. He took'm and thow'd'm back in. Goober quickly got out and came back to jeep. At that point jeep started back to the house with Goober close behind. The old dummy [goober, not jeep] was so happy to be back amongst his fellow "fowl" he grew up with---a dozen baby chicks who are now almost ready for fryers. Goober knows his'n name and will come when called. I imagine this pond thing today is the last time Goober'll get h is dainty feet wet! He'd much rather stay up at the house and play with ole griz!

When was the last time ya'll raised chickens for fryers? When was the last time you et a fresh, home grow'd chiken? In comparison, when was the last time you et a store bought chicken? In your opinion---was there ANY resemblence betwix the two?
