All-

Just a quick question. About how much would it cost to upgrade a single cam 50 Summicron-R to three cams?

Recommendations on where to have it done (USA).

TIA

The last time I had a 2-cam to 3-cam conversion it was $125 at Golden Touch (Sherry Krauter) so a 1-cam to 3-cam is gonna be more than that. I'd have either Don Goldberg or Sherry Krauter do the work. Leica USA will be too much $$$$$.

Leica charge about $200-250 I think.

I have seen some very nice newer 50 summicron R E55 lenses with the built-in hood on ebay for the $300 range. I use this lens and have nothing but praise for it. It is small and light by Leica R standards and very sharp and contrasty. My brother was showing his ex some pictures of their daughter that I shot with this lens a while back. She was blown away by their quality and kept asking him what kind of camera I had used. Good luck.

I've got my 50 into DAG right now for a cam upgrade (1 to 2 cam) and he quoted me $100. I don't know about a third cam I'd give him a call.He will be definatly cheaper than Leica USA and his workmanship is second to none.
