Hi, I'm researching on a poem written by E.A.Poe in the last year of his life (1849): To my mother. I would like to know the explication of the poem. For example, the devices he uses, the style, the tone (mood), and a synopsis of the poem. And which like is best to be the thesis of this poem? If you could help me out with your opinions and answers that would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

To my mother was about Virginia's mom and she died and he knew her like his own mom since he hasen't seen his biological mother since age 3.

What is the mood/tone of this poem, how dose the poet create the mood? As of examining this poem I firmly believe that the poet, Edger Allan Poe intended, and succeeded in making a romantic, deep, and yet sorrowful poem. I believe that he uses “Are mother to the one I loved so dearly” to express how much he truly cared for her. E.A Poe has also stated “Was dearer to my soul than its soul-life.” Amplifies the mood to a sorrowful poem by stating that his mother died so early in his life.
