Best mid-range zooms for Canon EOS cameras are Canon's 24-85 USM, 28- 105 USM and 28-135 USM IS. All of them have fast ring type USM focus motors and come with Full Time Manual (FTM) focusing. The 28-135 USM IS, adds Image Stabilization. Best prices from a reliable dealer can probably be found at bhphotovideo.com or adorama.com
