Battery cap makes a run for it

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

I knew this would happen to me. After reading last week in the letters section of Leica Photographie (5/02) re: "How I solved the problem of a lost battery cap while in deepest darkest africa", the same thing almost happened to me yesterday at my local Memorial Day parade. I sensed the battery cover as it left the camera body and headed for the ground. Luckily I grabbed the cover and the batteries before they got run over by the girl scouts and marching band. This made me think that next time I may not be so lucky and I better get a spare cap or two. So…..can anyone tell me what the part # and where would be the best place to buy one, B&H, Leica NJ? Thanks for your help. BTW and FWIW the Nikon laden press guy said to me “wish I never sold my M4P”

Sorry I got so caught up in story telling that I forgot to mention that the battery cap is for a M6TTL

most any hardware store will carry them. you can also order them for $14 a pop from leica in nj. ask if they've got the designer colors in yet.

What about Home Depot or Lowes,? do you think tie dye will still be in stock?

If you are going to get another battery cap, then get the one with the coin slot in it. The part number is 442-299-805-009.
