28-70 2.8L USM Hyperfocal distance calc

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon EOS FAQ forum : One Thread

Can someone let me know how to do a hyperfocal distance calc with the 28-70 2.8L lens when there are no markings on he lens to which one can place the infinity mark. I seem to have missed the plot somewhere. Thanks for your info.

There are plenty of hyperfocal distance calculators on the Net. It doesn't depend on the lens - the hyperfocal distance for the 28-70/2.8 at (say) 50mm and f/4 is the same as for the 50/1.4 at f/4 or the 35-350/3.5-5.6 at f/4 and so on.

This is the best one I've found : http://www.shuttercity.com/DOF.cfm.

What type of work are you doing that you need to calculate hyperfocals with an AF zoom? Canon didn't make it easy for you.
