thanks for the responses for my previous question. I would like to know, out of curiosity, if the built-in flash of EOS 300,GN12,is enough for shooting in the HK Convention and exhibition centre.The actual shooting distance is within that recommended by the instruction book.Same lens, film and condition of equipment as before. Answers

Like Jim described in the prior question, this is simple math:

GN / f-stop = max range (for autoflash)

Built in flash: 12 / 5.6 = 2.14 meters

380EX: 33 / 5.6 = 5.89 meters

Using 400 speed film, vs 100 speed film, will double the flash range.
