about the name CARPETHIA

I know this question is not really about the Titanic itselfs,but that ship the CARPETHIA,...can somebody sent me some more information about it, i would like the know where the name comes from, it has to have a evil history,that name.please help me in my search and would you please send it to my emailadress.Thx

Recently I was on the NUMA site, and heard that they have discovered the wreck of the Carpathia. Apparently the Carpathia was torpedoed by a German U-boat in 1917 and sunk. Other than that I have little information on the Carpathia except the fact that it was a small passenger liner (probably 15,000 - 20,000 tons) that was operated by the Cunard Line (White Star's rival).
