Since it's Friday, I thought I'd ask. Me, I'm off for a weekend with my young lady in Nottingham. If anyone on here knows Notts, I'd be greatful for some advice as to what's nice to do. Should be good.

Go to the Yates' wine lodge in the centre of town. It's a converted tram shed or such - rather a nice building as it happens. It also happens to be the biggest boozer in the country.
Go there and drink eight pints of Stella. That's wot I did one time - canny time that.

Well Gibbo, West Bridgford is lovely to drive around if you're passionate about British pre-war suburbs like I am. And Marks & Sparks in the Broadmarsh Centre used to do a lovely knickerbocker glory, the size and whippiness of which is bound to impress your lass - see if you can get your gran to take you like I used to. That might impress your lass even more ?

Thanks to the wonders of global time zones, while you're sat there on a Friday morning, I'm sat here at my desk at the END of my working day sipping a bottle of Hahn Premium - brewed using a single malt and German Hersbrucker hops, added late to ensure a pleasantly bitter finish (or so the label says).

As for the weekend, Saturday morning the internet groceries arrive, then we've a wedding to attend between Swedish and South African friends - service in a nice sandstone church in the oldest part of the city, followed by free booze on a boat cruising around Sydney Harbour, then a reception dinner in the heart of the Botanical Gardens. Sounds nice, but rain is forecast, so I'm going to wear my wellies and a sou'wester if I can sneak them past the significantly-better-half.

Sunday I'm expected to go and look at a first apartment for us to buy in property-obsessed Sydney (:O(( In the evening I'll have my usual hour in the warm-as-toast hydrotherapy pool after swimming my laps - a beautifully relaxing way of gearing up for the coming week.

So what about anyone else ?

How can you follow Loony Toon and his weekend? A bit of gardening, shopping and socialising......it's rubbish by comparison!

Drinking a beer while sat at your desk, LT? Some folks have it easy! ;-)

Me...off early today because I had to come in at 7am(ugh!) to have any chance of getting parking in Annapolis as our usual lot is being used for the Naval Academy graduation. Showers forecast over the weekend here as well, so probably do some shopping and cleaning. Such an exciting life, I lead. :-)

Middle of winter here this weekend, 24 deg C on Sat and Sunday.

Might go out and have something to eat in an outdoor cafe, or a walk by the river in the arvo looking at houses etc. Sinday lie in late breakfast at a cafe off to play footy then out for dinner.

Loony, buying in Sydney? HaaaaaaaaaHaaaaaaaaaaaaaHaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
